Common questions
How do I pay bail?
Open a locked app and tap Pay bail on the shield. Tap the notification that follows, tick the box and pay. Or open Bail, tap the sentence and pay from there.
I tapped Pay bail on the shield. Nothing happened.
The bail desk answers with a notification. Check that notifications are on for Bail in iOS Settings. Or open Bail within 5 minutes: it opens on the bail sheet.
I paid. My apps are still locked.
Open Bail. It checks every sentence when it opens. If Apple is still approving the payment (Ask to Buy, or your bank), Bail says Waiting for Apple and releases your apps once it goes through. Still stuck? Email us the time you paid.
Time's up. My apps are still locked.
Open Bail. It releases whatever is due when it opens.
Can I get my bail back?
Refunds go through Apple, not us. You can ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. We tell Apple the bail was used.
Can I shorten a sentence or lower its bail?
No. Once the door shuts, only bail or time gets them out. You can make it longer, raise the bail or add inmates.
Why can't I delete apps?
Strict mode. It's on by default and stops apps from being deleted while a sentence runs. Switch it off in Bail's Settings and it goes off 24 hours later.
What happens to my bail fund?
It stays in Bail as credit for bail. Serve a sentence and its bail comes back. Cave and it's spent. It never goes back to your card. What an escape costs is in the terms.
Does anything about my apps leave my iPhone?
No. Apple gives Bail anonymous tokens, and they stay on your iPhone. More in the privacy policy.
